Abstarct: Abstract Wind as a renewable energy source has large fluctuations in output power due to momentary changes in wind speed. These output fluctuations may be undesirable for the grid-connected to the wind turbine. Therefore, reducing the output power fluctuations of this type of electrical energy source is of great importance. In this study, we investigate the reduction of output power fluctuations in the instantaneous and transient states and attempt to reduce the output power fluctuations of wind turbines. This reduction of output power fluctuations is studied in detail in two parts: the wind turbine system separately and the combination of the wind turbine system and the supercapacitor, and in each part, the effect of short-term wind speed prediction on the reduction of output power fluctuations is studied. It is important to consider that this model will be utilized in a microgrid with limited power capacity, making the fluctuations in wind power significant. The model of wind turbine used in this study has a power capacity of 50 kW and an induction generator with a rated power of 50 kVA. The capacity of the supercapacitor used in this study is 0.125 Farad and it is controlled using a DC/DC converter. All the simulations in this study have been done in MATLAB/Simulixnk software. The general idea of this project is that in each part, the output power is obtained in a normal state, and then according to the predictions made on the wind speed values, the way of controlling the wind turbine is changed in order to reduce the fluctuations of the output power. This reduction of fluctuations is analyzed baxsed on the reduction of peak fluctuations and also the duration of fluctuations.
